| Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnosis
People often ask certain questions about what hypnosis is and what is can do for them. Please find below the answers to your questions:
I've heard a lot about hypnosis, but does it really work?
Hypnosis is in fact a naturally occurring state that we all experience in one form or another every day. Do you daydream?
When you do something you really enjoy, does your mind become completely focused on it, to the point that you become entranced? Have you even been driving home and not be conscious of the journey?
Well, then you have experienced a form of hypnosis.
The subconscious mind is very powerful and helps us perform daily tasks, such as breathing, walking, and even dreaming! When we communicate to
our subconscious what we want, it is our most powerful ally. Hypnosis does just that. It is a way of communicating directly with our subconscious what we want, and a trained
hypnotist redirects what you want to your unconscious mind. Once your subconscious knows what direction to move in, you do not have to think about it anymore that you think about walking from point
A to point B. See, it's easy!
Will I loose control under hypnosis?
Many people's first introduction to hypnosis is stage hypnosis. Have you seen a stage hypnotist ask people to bark like a dog? What they choose not
to tell you is that hypnosis is always voluntary. Only a small number of people are actually able to be hypnotized this way, and in fact, they are most likely people who have a desire to be on stage
and do silly things! Why do you think that the stage hypnotist only selects certain people from the audience who raise their hand, and sends certain people off stage when "they can't be hypnotized"?
(If fact, it's not that they can't be hypnotized, it's more that they don't want to bark like a dog). For this reason, a person does retain control of what they want under hypnosis and is why you
discuss with your hypnotherapist beforehand what you want to achieve. In this way, you maintain control of what you want.
